The answers
Nothing to mark. A circle that nearly closes is a pass at three; a cross whose lines actually meet is the real milestone, and usually arrives around three and a half.
If they get stuck
Draw circles in the air, then on a steamed window, then on paper. Big before small, always.
Common mistakes
- Two parallel lines instead of a cross, the crossing point is the skill.
- A spiral instead of a circle. Say 'come back home' rather than 'do it properly'.
When they finish early
Find circles in the kitchen and count them.
