Your visit and your privacy

What we record

After an interaction, our own server records the time, IP address, approximate country, browser family, operating system, device category, browser language, page path, referring website hostname and a recognised campaign source. We also record PDF-link clicks and the PDF path, and a click on a one-dollar support button together with the page it was on; what happens on the payment site afterwards is not visible to us. While a tab is open and visible, it sends a heartbeat about once a minute so we can tell how long a visit lasted and how many people are reading at this moment; a heartbeat carries the same fields and nothing more, and it does not increase the public visit counter. Each heartbeat and event carries a random identifier that your browser keeps for one tab session, discards when the tab closes, and never shares with any other site. It lets us measure a visit without relying on the IP address. IP addresses are personal data and may represent shared networks or VPNs, not an individual person.

We use these records to understand which activities and promotion channels are useful. We filter known automated traffic and excluded browsers, but cannot guarantee every event comes from a human. A PDF click does not prove the file was downloaded, opened or printed. Readers who do not interact may not be counted.

Storage and access

Detailed records are stored on our server in a private report available only to authorised administrators. They are deleted after at most 30 days through daily cleanup. Aggregate counters contain no visitor details and may be retained longer. Country lookup uses a local database; we do not send visitor IPs to an external analytics or geolocation provider.

We do not store full referrer URLs, URL query strings, search terms, names, email addresses or precise location in this report. No identity is inferred from an IP address. We do not use analytics cookies or a cross-site advertising identifier. Infrastructure security logs and backups are separate from this visitor report.

Your choice

Exclude this browser from visitor statistics. The choice takes effect before counter events are sent and is saved on this device. Use the link in each browser you use. Clearing browser storage removes the choice. You can enable statistics again. All activities remain available either way.

Browser storage and PDFs

Your browser stores activity progress, the welcome-guide preference and the statistics exclusion choice locally. Session storage prevents repeated visit events in one tab session. Progress and exclusion values are not sent to us. PDF files contain no tracking scripts and do not report when they are opened or printed.

Kogia Discovery

Discovery answers, optional age band and caregiver role, family or health context selections and private notes stay in session storage in your browser. They are not sent to us. Restarting Discovery clears that run. Closing a tab normally ends the session, although browser session recovery can restore it. Context and private notes are excluded from the printed report unless you choose to include them. Review any PDF before sharing it.

A separate optional topic-suggestion form sends only the text you enter in that form, with explicit consent. Do not include identifying, medical or private family details. We store the suggestion, a random reference, timestamp and consent version in a private review queue for up to 30 days. No Discovery answers, profile or private notes are attached. Infrastructure security logs may record network information independently. Staff review suggestions; they never automatically change the questions. Contact us with the submission reference to request deletion.

Children and advertising

The site is intended for adults choosing activities for children. We do not ask for a child’s name or contact information. Discovery offers an optional broad age band, processed only in the browser. We do not knowingly use visit records to identify or profile children. Google AdSense is now loaded on these pages. No ads are being shown yet, because the account is still under review, but the script itself is third-party code and Google may set cookies or read device identifiers through it: that is processing Google carries out, not us, and we cannot see it. You can review and change it at myadcenter.google.com. Google describes this processing in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. This site does not currently present a consent banner of its own, because no ad is being served. One will be in place for visitors in the EEA and the UK before the first ad appears. Ads will never appear inside a PDF, and never between you and a download.

Links to shops

A few pages suggest ordinary items that make the printed sheets easier to use, and those suggestions link out to a shop. We set no cookie when you click one, we are not told whether you clicked it, and we do not learn what you viewed or bought. Once you leave this site the shop’s own privacy policy and cookies apply. Those links carry no identifier of ours and earn us nothing today. The full statement is on the affiliate disclosure page.

Contact contact@kogiakids.com about your data or a deletion request. We may need the approximate visit time and IP address to locate a record; we do not maintain accounts that identify visitors by name.
