If they get stuck

Put a hand under the chin. The jaw drops once per beat, and they can feel it when they cannot hear it.

Common mistakes

Clapping per letter. Say it aloud, never spell it.
Assuming a big object has a long name, a lovely error, and worth naming out loud.

When they finish early

Clap every family member's name and line them up shortest to longest.
