If they get stuck

Do the first one together, out loud, three times. Then leave the room for a minute.

Common mistakes

Joining by picture similarity, two animals together, regardless of sound.
Drawing all four lines to the nearest word. Ask them to say the pair aloud before drawing.

When they finish early

Invent a nonsense rhyming partner for their own name. Nonsense counts.
