Three moments, no test

أَيَّ صُورَةٍ تُحِبُّ أَنْ نَبْدَأَ بِهَا؟
سمِّ الصورة التي اختارها: ماء، سمكة، فأر، ليمون، نار أو بيت. أعط كل كلمة قبل طلب حرفها.

أَسْمَعُ الْبِدَايَةَ. أَيُّ الْحَرْفَيْنِ يُمَثِّلُهَا؟
استخدم الصوت دون اسم الحرف. إذا احتاج، افتح لقاء الحرف نفسه بدل زيادة التلميحات.

أَيَّ لُعْبَةٍ تُرِيدُ أَنْ نَعُودَ إِلَيْهَا يَوْمًا آخَرَ؟
دوّن اختيار الطفل في ذهنك، ولا تجمع علامات أو تقارن سرعته. انتهِ حين يرغب.

What is on the sheet
Six numbered picture cards in two rows of three, numbered from the right, each with two letters printed under it to choose from: 1 مَاء (water) with م and س, 2 سَمَكَة (fish) with ف and س, 3 فَأْر (mouse) with ف and ل, 4 لَيْمُون (lemon) with ل and ن, 5 نَار (fire) with ب and ن, 6 بَيْت (house) with ب and م. The line at the top says أَخْتَارُ صُورَةً وَأُشِيرُ إِلَى حَرْفِ بِدَايَتِهَا (I choose a picture and point to its first letter). Answers in order: م، س، ف، ل، ن، ب.
Skill: Choosing the first letter of a spoken word from two letters, for six words the child already knows. You will need: nothing at all. Your role: read aloud. Prints well in black and white.

How the activity runs
Every sheet follows the same five moves, in this sheet’s own words. Read them once before you sit down; they are what page 1 asks the child to do.

Choose any picture. Your grown-up says its word, without the ال, and makes the first sound.

Look at the two letters under that picture and point to the one that makes the sound.

Another picture, your choice again. You do not have to do all six.

Tell your grown-up which game from the series you want to play again another day.
